BPI dan SUCOFINDO Kick-Off Meeting for BPI’s Methanol Transportation System Design

Jakarta, Desember 10, 2025 – PT Butonas Petrochemical Indonesia (BPI) and PT Sucofindo officially commenced their strategic collaboration by holding a kick-off meeting for a study: The Design of PT BPI’s Methanol Transport System: Technical Integration, Logistics, Risk, Regulations, and Economic Feasibility, specifically encompassing a Comprehensive Multimodal Study covering Pipeline – Rail – Road.

This meeting follows the contract signing that covers the AMDAL (Environmental Impact Analysis) & ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) study and the Methanol Logistics Feasibility Study for BPI’s methanol plant project.

The meeting was attended by SUCOFINDO teams from Jakarta and Semarang, who will be directly involved in developing the feasibility study of Methanol logistics and AMDAL study. The participation of both regional teams strengthens technical coordination and ensures comprehensive execution across all stages.

The main discussion agenda focused on:

  • Presentation of Work Methodology: The Sucofindo team provided a detailed explanation of their approach and working methods for conducting the feasibility study of Methanol logistics and AMDAL study.
  • Clarification of Scope of Work (SOW): Intensive discussions were held to clarify and agree upon the detailed scope of work for both parties.

The meeting concluded with an agreement that the study will commence immediately according to the agreed timeline. The BPI Team is currently awaiting the official submission of the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) from Sucofindo.

This collaboration is expected to yield an optimal, safe, and sustainable methanol transport system design, one that can leverage various transport modes (pipeline, rail, road) in an integrated manner to support the success of PT BPI’s plant construction.
